MODERN CLONES

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_that_have_been_cloned

List of animals that have been cloned

This is a list of animals that have been cloned in alphabetical order. One significant aspect of this list is documenting the transition from early concerns that animal cloning procedures might be limited to a few species, that cloned animals might be physiologically abnormal, or cloning might lack utility for society.

Carp
Chinese embryologist Tong Dizhou successfully inserted the DNA from a male Asian carp into the egg of a female Asian carp to create the first fish clone in 1963. In 1973 Dizhou inserted Asian carp DNA into a European crucian carp to create the first interspecies clone.[1]

Cat
  • In December 2001, scientists at Texas A&M University created the first cloned cat, CC (CopyCat).[2] Even though CC is an exact copy of his host, they have different personalities; i.e. CC is shy and timid, his host on the other hand is playful and curious.
  • In 2004, the first commercially cloned cat, Little Nicky, was created by Genetic Savings & Clone.[3]
Cattle
  • First World cloned calf (Gene) was born on February 7, 1997 on American Breeders Service facilities in Deforest, Wisconsin. Later it was transferred and kept to Minnesota Zoo Education Center.[4]
  • A Holstein heifer named Amy was cloned by Dr. Xiangzhong (Jerry) Yang using ear skin cells from a high-merit cow named Aspen at the University of Connecticut on June 10, 1999, followed by three additional clones, Betty, Cathy and Daisy by July 7, 1999.[5]
  • Second Chance, a Brahman bull was cloned from Chance, a beloved celebrity bull. Second Chance was born August 9, 1999 at Texas A&M University.[6]
  • Texas A&M University cloned a Black Angus bull named 86 Squared, 15 after cells from his donor, Bull 86, were frozen (2000). Both bulls exhibit a natural resistance to Brucellosis, Tuberculosis and other diseases which can be transferred in meat.[7][8]
  • Millie and Emma were two female Jersey cows cloned at the University of Tennessee in 2001. They were the first cows to be produced using standard cell-culturing techniques.
  • Pampa the first animal cloned in Argentina by Biosidus (2002)
  • Ten more Jersey cows were cloned at the University of Tennessee. (females, 2002)
  • Bonyana and Tamina cloned calf in Royan Research Institute, Isfahan, Iran in summer of 2009.[9]
  • In 2010 the first Spanish Fighting Bull was cloned by Spanish scientists.[10] -- see also Got (bull) (2009).
  • Anatolian Grey bull (Efe) was cloned in Turkey in 2009 and cattle from the same breed (Ece, Ecem, Nilufer, Kiraz) by TUBITAK[11]
  • GARIMA- I: world's first buffalo calf through the “Hand guided Cloning Technique” was born on February 6, 2009 at NDRI, Karnal(India).
  • GARIMA- II: NDRI, Karnal(India).
Dog
  • South Korean scientist Hwang Woo-Suk cloned the first dog, an afghan hound named Snuppy. Later in 2005 Hwang Woo-Suk was found to have fabricated evidence in stem cell research projects. This caused some to question the veracity of his other experiments, including Snuppy. In their investigation of Hwang Woo-Suk's publication, however, a team from SNU confirmed that Snuppy was a true clone of Tei, the DNA donor dog.[13] South Korean scientists recently cloned 'sniffer' dogs.[14]
  • BioArts International held a dog cloning contest where people would send in submissions about which dog was the most suited to be cloned. The winner was Trakr, a K-9 police dog who was a 9/11 hero.
Horse
  • Prometea, female, born May 2003, Italy
  • Pieraz, male, born February 2005, Italy[21]
  • Paris-Texas, male, born March 2005, USA[21]
  • Gemini, male, born September 2008, USA, clone of multiple recipient of "Horse of the Year" award for jumping Gem Twist
  • Saphir, male, born February 2010, USA, clone of show jumper Sapphire
  • From early embryonic cells by Steen Willadsen (1986). Megan and Morag cloned from differentiated embryonic cells in June 1995.

  • Dolly (1996-2003), first cloned mammal from somatic cells
  • Polly and Molly (July 1997), first transgenic cloned mammal
  • Royana (2006) cloned in Royan Research institute in Isfahan, Iran.
  • Oyalı [9] [10] and Zarife[11] were cloned in November 2007 in Istanbul University in Istanbul, Turkey.

Reality is Binary Code

The first time I heard about 11:11 was in 1991, when I was hosting the talk show "The Metaphysical Experience", and Solara was my guest. Her topic was Activation of the 11:11 Doorway. It was all about ascension and the beginning of awareness of the 11:11 code. In 1995, a Crystalinks' reader named Joe emailed about his experiences with the numbers 111:111, hence the file you are reading was first created and in so doing I took a long hard look at this phenomena experienced by those around me. Each time Joe was about to go through another major spiritual awakening, an epiphany of some kind, those numbers would appear in his physical experience to signal the upcoming change. The numbers say, "Pay attention!"

Reality is a consciousness program (hologram, simulation, illusion) created by digital codes. Numbers, numeric codes, define our existence. Human DNA, our genetic memory, is encoded to be triggered by digital codes at specific times and frequencies. Those codes awaken the mind to the change and evolution of consciousness. 11:11 is one of those codes, meaning activation of human DNA.
The brain processes through binary code - zeroes and ones that create patterns of experience and reality. 11 is part of that code... in this timeline associated with awakening the the nature of reality - who we are, why we are here and where it is all rapidly going. We exist in a consciousness computer simulation.

Santa Claus, Magic Mushroom & The Flying Reindeer

Hey peeps, the following article is one i found while researching for my next topic,i thought it may be worth the read,to be honest i actualy find the majority of the piece to be a load of bull,so please dont base the entire blog on this one piece, have a read let me know what you think and i guess we'll just leave it at that.
Note the following was taken from an external sight unrelated to the reindeer eperience. Therefore I DID NOT WRITE THE ARTICLE MENTIONED.

The Story of Santa Claus is the story of the Magic Mushroom! Santa Claus is the Amanita Muscaria or Fly Agaric Mushroom! Santa's Red and White attire is symbolic of the Red and White Amanita Muscaria and it's no coincidence the flying reindeer love eating 'Fly Agaric' ... Santa Claus lives at the North Pole, and he has flying reindeer pulling his sleigh through the air. Reindeer are native to Siberia, and the shamanic use of this mushroom in Siberia is well documented. Now, I know Siberia isn't the North Pole exactly, but it's pretty close, and the earth's magnetic pole is actually shifting away from North America and towards Siberia. Christmas trees are Pine trees. Pine trees are the trees that the Amanita Muscaria grows under. They have a mycorrhizal(which basically means non-parasitic) relationship with that plant and Spruce trees. Their shiny red and white caps blooming under the tree looks very much like the tradition of placing shiny wrapped boxes under there and a lot like the red and white stockings children hang under the tree!

Psychedelic Adventures | These red and white mushrooms, Amanita muscaria, were found in an alpine forest around Creede, Colorado. A. muscaria was the “sacred mushroom” used by the ancient tribal peoples of pre-Christian northern Europe. Its bright coloring suggests the colors of Santa’s garments and of holiday lights.

Although most people see Christmas as a Christian holiday, most of the symbols and icons we associate with Christmas celebrations are actually derived from the shamanistic traditions of the tribal peoples of pre-Christian northern Europe.

The sacred mushroom of these people was the red and white Amanita muscaria, also known as “fly agaric.” This mushroom commonly is seen in books of fairy tales and usually is associated with magic and fairies. It contains potent hallucinogenic compounds once used by ancient peoples for insight and transcendental experiences. Most of the major elements of the modern Christmas celebration, such as Santa Claus, Christmas trees, magical reindeer and the giving of gifts, are originally based upon the traditions surrounding the harvest and consumption of this most sacred mushroom.

True spirit of Christmas
By better understanding the truths within these popular celebrations, we can better understand the modern world, and our place in it.

Many people in the modern world have rejected Christmas as being too commercial, claiming that this ritual of giving is actually a celebration of materialism and greed. Yet the true spirit of this winter festival lies not in the exchange of plastic toys, but in celebrating a gift from the earth: the fruiting top of a magical mushroom, and the revelatory experiences it can provide.
Origin of phrase, “to get pissed”
The active ingredients of A. muscaria are not metabolized by the body, and so they remain active in the urine. In fact, it is safer to drink the urine of one who has consumed the mushroom than to eat the mushroom directly, as many of the toxic compounds are processed and eliminated on the first pass through the body.

It was common practice among ancient people to recycle the potent effects of the mushroom by drinking each other’s urine. The mushroom’s ingredients can remain potent even after six passes through the human body. Some scholars argue that this is the origin of the phrase “to get pissed,” as this urine-drinking activity preceded alcohol by thousands of years.

Reindeer were the sacred animals of these semi-nomadic people, as the reindeer provided food, shelter, clothing and other necessities. Reindeer are also fond of eating the mushroom; they will seek it out, then prance about while under its influence. Often the urine of tripped-out reindeer would be consumed for its psychedelic effects.

This effect goes the other way too, as reindeer also enjoy the urine of a human, especially one who has consumed the mushroom. In fact, reindeer will seek out human urine to drink, and some tribesmen carry sealskin containers of their own collected piss, which they use to attract stray reindeer back into the herd.

Instead of perpetuating outdated and confusing holiday myths, it might be more fulfilling to return to the original source of these seasonal celebrations. How about getting back to basics and enjoying some magical mushrooms with your loved ones this holiday season? What better gift can a family share than a little piece of love and enlightenment?

Anyway prehapse more than anything else this last post served as something to chuckle about.

Lucid Dreaming

A lucid dream, also known as conscious dream, is a dream in which the sleeper is aware that he/she is dreaming. When the dreamer is lucid, they can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream.

Induction Techniques

Many people report having experienced a lucid dream during their lives, often in childhood. Children seem to have lucid dreams more easily than adults. Over time, several techniques have been developed to achieve a lucid dreaming state intentionally. The following are common factors that influence lucid dreaming and techniques that people use to help achieve a lucid dream:

Dream recall
Dream recall is simply the ability to remember dreams. Good dream recall is often described as the first step towards lucid dreaming. Better recall increases awareness of dreams in general; with limited dream recall, any lucid dreams one has can be forgotten entirely. To improve dream recall, some people keep a dream journal, writing down any dreams remembered the moment one awakes. An audio recorder can also be very helpful. It is important to record the dreams as quickly as possible as there is a strong tendency to forget what one has dreamt. Dream recall can also be improved by staying still after waking up. Stephen LaBerge recommends that you remember at least one dream per night before attempting any induction methods.

DISCOVERY OF THE UNDERWATER MUSHROOMS

Thought this was a cool discovery. It’s the first report of a mushroom species fruiting underwater, according to Wired.com’s 10 New Species Discovered in 2010.
There are a few others featured too, but I just love the idea that these things have gone unnoticed in the scientific record for so long. The cheeky buggers!

An Oregon scientist has discovered the first known species of gilled underwater mushroom, Psathyrella aquatica, in the cold waters of the Rogue River.
"Coffan says he didn't set out to find a new species, in fact, he says he was just playing in the water on a family outing.
"'I was up in the middle of July, 90 degrees outside, wading around in the water, enjoying myself, and I saw mushrooms growing underwater,' he said.

"After making the discovery, Coffan and a team of biologists from SOU spent nearly three months observing the mushrooms.

"He says they develop and mature near other aquatic vegetation and remain constantly underwater. He says he's seen the mushrooms spread over about a quarter-mile stretch, growing on wood, gravel and the silty riverbed."

Scientists at this stage are unable to conferm whether or not this particular breed of aquatic fungi has any psychoactive properties.
But wouldnt it be cool if it did?

PLACES YOU WANT TO GO!- AHEDONISTIC GUIDE

1:Red Light District Amdam-A Hedonistic paradise for the young at heart,a scene for many great and unforgetable parties throughout the years.

Most mid- and big-size cities around the world have red-light districts, although the legality of the activities that occur in these areas, the degree of 'openness' with which they are conducted, as well as the views of the general public and the authorities on these districts differ widely around the world.
Some red-light districts, such as De Wallen, Netherlands or Reeperbahn, Germany, are places which are officially designated by authorities for legal and regulated prostitution.[2]
Other red-light districts, such as those from Thailand, and most parts of Asia, are areas which are unofficially monitored by the authorities: in spite of the illegality of prostitution in these places, the practice is tolerated and controlled by officials, and little is done to reduce or eliminate it.[5]

2:Afrikaburn- The event has been running since 2007, with all events to date held on a private farm called Stonehenge, which is adjacent to the Tankwa Karoo National Park. The farm is very isolated, as it is situated half way along the R355, an 250km long untarred road between Calvinia and Ceres.
As a regional Burning Man event, AfrikaBurn adheres to the ten principles of Burning Man. Among these are the Leave No Trace philosophy, radical self-expression, radical self-reliance, and communal effort. [1]
Theme camps are one of the key components of vibrant regional Burning Man events. Theme camps are established by participants to enhance the experience for all participants.
Major theme camps from the last few years include "The Desert Rose", "Partycipation", "Amadeadly Disco" and "Burning Mail"

Older than the Giza Pyramids
Older than Stonehenge
More than 75,000 years ago… early humans built a stone calendar that predates all other man-made structures found to date. Who were they? Why did they need a calendar?

This remarkable stone structure was originally a large circular structure resembling but predating Stonehenge by many thousands of years. Adam’s Calendar is built along the same longitudinal line as Great Zimbabwe and the Great Pyramid. It is also aligned with the rise of Orion’s belt when it rose horizontally on the horizon some 75,000 years ago. Adam’s Calendar takes us further back in time closer to the emergence of Homo sapiens, than any other structure ever found to date, and it will force historians and archaeologist to reconsider ancient human activity and consciousness.

(affectionately called Adam’s Calendar) has been dated by astronomer Bill Hollenbach to be around 75,000 years, based on the movement of the peoples in southern Africa and the emergence of rock art during that period. But it could in fact be even older – dating back to the dawn of Homo sapiens some 250,000 years ago.

Be sure not to miss this ONE!

So this raps up the top 3 paradises for the seasoned hedonist!
Make sure you pay one of these if not all three of these amazing places a visit.

BALKANOLOGY,MUSIC FOR EVERYONE!

http://www.balkanology.co.za/

(

We are Balkanology;
a Cape Town based collective
presenting the madness of
Balkan and Gypsy music to Africa.

We do this by throwing massive manic parties where DJ’s and musicians perform a fusion of Gypsy, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Romanian melodies. It’s the biggest Balkan party in South Africa. It’s the only Balkan party in South Africa.

So I attended my very first Balkanology party this past weekend in New Town JHB,and my god was it an experience!
The point of the party is to dress to theme and play along with the actors who have been hired to give the party it's original creative feel.
I must add it felt great, searching for East Europen 'Balkan' clothing to wear to the party.

For those of you who have never heard of Balkanology music,or any of their parties which they have been throwing for the past 5 years, then you are seriously missing out big time!

Think Bulgaria,Romania,Maccedonia,Poland, kazakhstan,Borat! now imagine what type of music those fuckers listen to...its got very much a Gypsy/Carnival feel to it,now imagine this, mixed into a very happy uplifting carnival circus enviroment, where people are having the night of their lives! the vodka is flowing, and everybody on the dancefloor is having a great GREAT time!
Out of all the parties i haved attended so far this year, this has to top the list of the greatest!
Thats saying alot coming from someone who has seen, this year alone, bands like the mighty Faithless,Ramstein, and u2,

So do yourself a favour,if you live in SA and have not attended one of these exhilarating mind blowing experience parties, then next time make sure you attend one,and invite any & or all your friends who you think will appreciate something out of the norm,& make sure to let me know how it was,& what your thoughts regarding Balkanology was,& now is?

More on Balkanology coming soooon!
